Director's / Curator's Statement:
„My film revolves around a public-housing project building in the city of Bat-Yam, Israel, where i grew up. I was drawn to this specific building since childhood because my uncle Sioma lived in the building. My brother and I were forbidden to visit Sioma on our own. It was an established taboo in our family. We would visit him on Saturdays, and rarely at that. I recall going there and asking Sioma why the building resembles a prison. Sioma would smile at me and say that he doesn't think of it anymore. The film penetrates the building's facade and observes the people within. What do those who live in the building have in common, apart from their misery? Do their similar fates create compassion between one another, or is it quite the opposite?“ (Miki Polonski)
