Film Presentation:
Filmul lui Dan Alex surprinde într-un mod cu totul neconventional Afganistanul de dupa talibani. Jurnalist freelancer, autorul a locuit mai multa vreme în Kabul si a învatat limba persana. Printre numeroasele subiecte care i-au ajuns la urechi s-a numarat si acesta: ultimii doi evrei din Kabul, care sunt la cutite, împartind în doua sinagoga. Isaac Levy vinde amulete si le citeste de deochi soldatilor si femeilor sterpe. Zabulon Simantov fabrica alcool la negru si îl vinde clientilor lui Isaac. Totusi, cei doi traiesc în vrajba. Dan Alexe reuseste un film intimist, plin de umor si de umanitate.

Director's Bio-Filmography:
Dan Alexe was born in 1961. Working as an independent radio and TV journalist (1989 - 1990: BBC World Service, radio (1990 - 2006: Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty), he traveled extensively throughout the Near East, the Caucasus, Central Asia, and the Balkans. He is currently completing a PhD at the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales (Paris) on the subject of contemporary Islamic mysticism. He has a Master's degree (post-graduate diploma from the Ecole des Hautes Etudes) in History and Civilizations and Bachelor of Arts at the University of Iasi (Romania).
