Director's Bio-Filmography:
Dan Alexe was born in 1961. Working as an independent radio and TV journalist (1989
- 1990: BBC World Service, radio (1990 - 2006: Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty), he
traveled extensively throughout the Near East, the Caucasus, Central Asia, and the
Balkans. He is currently completing a PhD at the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences
Sociales (Paris) on the subject of contemporary Islamic mysticism. He has a Master's
degree (post-graduate diploma from the Ecole des Hautes Etudes) in History and
Civilizations and Bachelor of Arts at the University of Iasi (Romania).
