MASTERCLASS: INVESTIGATIVE DOCUMENTARY
Friday 19th OCTOBER 2012
INVESTIGATIVE DOCUMENTARY - in romanian
The documentary film belongs to both the world of press and cinematographic art. When its affiliation to journalism is predominant, we talk about the well known investigative documentary, which makes disclosures of illegalities committed at various levels of society. Investigative documentary is made by precise rules, which produce visual "evidence", which can be treated as legal evidence. Journalists that make such films are often exposed to threats, risking their lives, and thereby become heroes of truth disclosure. There are, on the other hand, many cases of journalists who abuse the power of investigative documentary.
Astra Film Festival Sibiu 2011 will bring the Romanian investigative documentary into focus, within a round table discussion with the following topic “What kind of investigative documentary do we see on screen in Romania?” Invited are journalists, experts, professionists that have made investigative documentaries or reportages in Romania.
