Astra Film Festival 2006

The documentary Film - Where To?

It is not by chance that the colloquim " The documentary Film - Where To?" is part of the programme of ASTRA FILM FEST in Sibiu, at the very moment when Romania is hosting the Francophonic Year. ASTRA FILM FEST is an highly estemeed event, and films of the francophonic area have been constantly presented and acclaimed here. When we think about the Romanian film festivals which enjoyed the participation of films coming from the francophone area, we have to mention DaKino, and Transylvania International Film Festival, TIFF. If we think about awards and honours obtained by Romanian films, we come to the same francophone region: Cannes, Montreal, Namur, Montpelier etc. Cinema language connects people who live in the francophone area and beyond it. Documentarz film is at the same time art and knowledge.

ASTRA FILM FEST 2006 is the place where Romanian filmmakers will meet their peers from francophone countries under the motto " art, knowledge, friendship".
